On 29 May, the Estonian Human Rights Centre presented the "Respecting differences" label to the University of Tartu for the second time at the joint building of ministries in Tallinn.

Tartu City Council assigned the titles of Honorary Citizen of Tartu and the honorary decorations Tartu Täht on 25 January. Enn Lust, Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Tartu was granted the title of Honorary Citizen.

Tõnis Laasfeld is a Research Fellow of Bioorganic Chemistry at the University of Tartu in the Institute of Chemistry and a data scientist at Proekspert. On August 29th of this year, under the supervision of professor of Bioorganic Chemistry Ago Rinken and Dr Leopold Parts.
