On 20 October from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the foyer of Chemicum will host “Lõputööde kompass,” a joint event bringing together research groups and students. The aim of the event is to introduce students to the Institute’s research fields, research groups, and potential thesis topics.
The event offers students from all years of study the opportunity to meet researchers in an informal setting, gain insight into a wide range of research areas, and find inspiration for their future thesis projects.
Throughout the evening, research groups will present their research directions, ongoing projects, and opportunities for student involvement in research. Participants will have the chance to explore the topics being investigated at the Institute and learn about thesis opportunities offered by different groups.
To make getting to know the research groups even more engaging, students will also be invited to take part in a game featuring questions, tasks, and puzzles prepared by the groups. This will provide a fun and interactive way to discover science and become familiar with different research fields.
Light refreshments and drinks will be provided by the Institute.
The organisers hope that as many research groups as possible will take part in the event and help students discover their scientific interests, find a future thesis topic, and perhaps even take the next step towards a career in research.
